As far as I remember I've always been really sensitive to scents, in fact many of my memories are associated with particular smells. So naturally I was always drawn to perfumes, candles and similar products more than anything else, but it wasn't until this year that I've discovered the world the essential oils (and got completely and utterly consumed by it (in the good way, obviously)). There's something euphoric about the pure, natural scents distilled from straight from the plants. But not only they smell amazing, there's a whole holistic medicine behind the powerful oils. Headache? There's an oil for that. Bug bite? Upset stomach? Flu, sore muscles, sunburn? There's an essential oil for all of this and more. However it's really important to only use certified pure therapeutic grade oils, because only then they are truly pure and safe to use. I love using doTERRA oils because their quality is superior! Honestly, I'm so fascinated by the power of nature.
There probably hasn't been a single day that I wasn't using essential oils in one way or another this year, but my favorite part is diffusing them and breathing in the fresh, scented air. I run my diffuser at least 3 times a day when I'm home, I love having it on first thing in the morning to get me energized and ready for the day, and definitely every time I go to sleep, it's the most relaxing thing and I couldn't recommend it more if you have trouble sleeping! For inspiration, here are some of my favorite diffuser blends:
Diffuser Blends
RELAXATION BLEND:
ROSEMARY, LAVENDER, BERGAMOT, PATCHOULI, FRANKINCENSE
ENERGY BLEND:
GRAPEFRUIT, WILD ORANGE, PEPPERMINT
FOREST BLEND:
JUNIPER BERRY, CYPRESS, LIME, EUCALYPTUS, FRANKINCENSE
FRESH AIR BLEND:
BERGAMOT, PEPPERMINT, LEMON
I also like to use essential oils in my beauty regime, I add a drop of lavender to my moisturizer, not only it smells amazing but lavender also has anti-inflammatory, antiseptic and soothing properties that are great for the skin! For the hair, I add 3 drops of rosemary to my shampoo every time I wash my hair to promote hair growth.

I could really do with a de-stress blend at the moment! Lavendar has always been one of my favourites to use on my pillow at night.

I can never get enough of Lavender! It's so relaxing. xx
DeleteI am definitely the same when it comes to scents. They are so often linked to memories for me. I have some essential oils but don't use them as much as I would like to. This post inspired me to pull some out today. Thanks!
